Born in Bombay, and after attending secondary school in England, Maxie Cooper continued her artistic journey at the Accademia Di Belle Arti in Rome. During this time, she was inspired and influenced by Abstract Expressionist painters, with oils being her preferred medium. After several years of experimenting with oil on canvas, she diversified into other mediums such as watercolour and charcoal. More recently, she has been experimenting with photography, and combines charcoal and watercolours and photography to produce mixed-media works.

The artist’s work can be found in several private and public art collections, in India, the UAE, ¬†Canada, the USA and UK. She has participated in several group shows and has had two successful solo exhibitions in Mumbai.
