Sanjay Barot is a painter with a bold style partial to the male figure. He paints the male as a dramatic and magnificient creation.

The underlying mood of his works exude confidence and strength. His brush strokes are strong and supple and a single work in a space will tend to gently dominate the attention of the viewer. His focus is the urban man of our times, his dreams, his amitions and his quiet determination to get what he aspires. The note of solitude in his works is positive and his choice of colours lend expression to passion and sagacious introspection.

Sanjay Barot acquired a degree in painting from Sheth CN College of Fine Arts in, Ahmedabad and a post-diploma degree from MS University, Vadodara in 2008. Barot was awarded a one-year scholarship in 2005, and won the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy in painting the same year. He has participated in several group shows including one at the Leila & Purushottam Hutheesing Visual Art Centre, Ahmedabad in 2004; the 10th Harmony show by Reliance, Mumbai in 2005, The Baroda March by Rukshaan Art, Mumbai in 2008 and 2012-2015; Vyakt-Avyakt at The Birla Academy, Kolkata, Eleven Curls and Roots by Rukshaan Art in Mumbai; a group show, Gestures of Love at The Epicentre, Gurgaon in 2011, and another at the Dignam Gallery in Toronto (2011), amongst others.
