A deep-seated pride and nostalgia for the homeland (within the homeland) is the common thread that weaves the imagination of this group of artists from Baroda.
Though the manner, medium and content of each artist’s work is distinctly different, the representation of their memories and experiences exudes the synergy of intent. Spanning different mediums like watercolors on paper on canvas, mixed media works and sculpture, every work radiates a dramatic and fresh vibe.
The exhibition attempts to reflect contemporary expressions, in distinctive tones, the integrity of thought from each artist. One may observe a personal point of reference in experience and environment in their work. Forms, patterns, figures are elegantly handled to narrate the unique ambience of nature, architecture and social life. The interpretation of each one’s story builds a reality that is the true reflection of the artist’s character and beliefs.
